If you're more of a visual learner, here's a step-by-step video tutorial on how to make your Daisy Belle Wiggle/Worry Worm.
Materials Needed
- Wooden Print Cat Doll Head Beads (30 mm) available on Ebay and Amazon. These are quite LARGE, so make sure you have the right size.
- Yarn in white & yellow - Ricorumi DK 100% cotton, 25 g (57.5 m) or the slightly heavier Lang Handarbeitsgarn (12 wpi)
- Crochet hook size E (3.5 mm)
- A darning needle
- A pair of scissors
- Stitch marker or contrasting piece of yarn
- Glue (if you’d like the flower hat to stay in place).
Abbreviations
- mc = magic circle
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st = stitch
- sts = stitches
- fo = fasten off
Skill Level
- Beginner
Gauge
13 stitches and 4 rows = 5 cm in double crochet
If your Wiggle Worm looks narrow or not as full as you anticipated, try a heavier weight yarn. If you want your Wiggle Worm to be longer, just increase the number of stitches in your body chain.

This Daisy Wiggle Worm measures approx. 5.5 “ (14 cm) in height including the head & hat.

Notes
- You can use any type of yarn as long as you have a corresponding crochet hook size (check yarn label for recommendations).

How To Make Sure Your Worry Worms Curl Properly Every Time
Daisy Belle Wiggle Worm Pattern Instructions
Hanger
- Tie a slip knot on your hook with yellow, ch 40.
- Sl st into the first chain. Do not cut your yarn. Try to keep your chain untwisted.


Body
- Row 1: Ch 21 (21).

- Row 2: 3 dc into the second chain from your hook.
- 3 dc into each st of your chain until you reach back to where you slip stitched the hanger (60).
Note: Place your dc stitches into the front loops of your chain and make sure not to skip any.



- Slip stitch into the last stitch to join.
- Leaving a 4” tail, cut your yarn and fasten off.

- Tie a knot with your 2 tail ends.
- Twist your wiggle worm around your finger to curl nicely.

- Row 3: Attach white to your last st from Row 2, ch 2.
- 2 dc into that same st.

Note: Place your Row 3 stitches into both loops of the previous row's stitches. Try to work over your tail ends so you don't have to weave them in later.
- 3 dc into each st of Row 2 (180).


- Leaving a 4” tail, cut your yarn and fasten off.
- Insert your crochet hook into the top of your bead.
- Pull up the hanger (beginning chain) through the center hole of the bead from bottom to top. Do not tie a knot yet. Set aside.



Daisy Hat
- Round 1: Starting with Yellow, work 6 sc into a Magic Circle.
Note: If you don't know how to work a Magic Circle yet, simply chain 2 and work the 6 sc into the second chain from your hook.
Place a stitch marker in the first stitch of each upcoming round.


- Round 2: 2 sc into each st around (12).

- Round 3: sc around (12).

- Leaving a 4" tail, cut your yarn and fasten off.
- Round 4: Join white yarn, sc around (12).

- Round 5: [ch 3, starting from the second chain from your hook work 2 sc, sl st into the next stitch from round 4]. Repeat [ ] 11 more times (12 petals).
- Leaving a 4" tail, cut your yarn and fasten off.





- Insert your crochet hook into the top of the daisy hat, catch the hanger with your hook and pull it through the hat (from bottom to top).

- Lower the daisy hat onto the bead and tighten it by tying a simple knot with the hanger as close as possible to the hat to secure it in place.

- You can also add a dab of glue on the top of the bead to hold the hat in place.
- Weave in all your ends.
