Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Worry Worm Story?
Crochet worry worms are most likely based on the Guatemalan Worry Dolls, used as a remedy for worrying. Kids tell the tiny dolls their concerns and place them under their pillows at night so that the worry dolls can take over their worries.
If you'd like to read more about the Worry Worm Story, check out this post where I take a deep-dive into their origin, use cases and pattern options:
Why are worry worms so great?
Worry worms have had an enormous impact on people who've been lucky enough to find them out & about or who've been given them by caring family members or friends. I got in touch with a few of them and asked if I could share their stories here. Have a look at what they've said:
Are crochet Worry Worms ideal projects for beginners?
Yes, absolutely! These worry worms are great projects for beginners. I'd recommend starting with the Basic Worry Worm pattern, then the bunny, then trying the more complex ones later.
Can kids crochet these worry worms?
Yes, kids starting from age 7 should be able to crochet basic worry worms. I taught my daughter how to crochet at the age of 5 and she made these 2 cute little worry worms out of T-shirt yarn to give to her teachers.
Does the written pattern include photos?
Yes! Each Worry Worm pattern includes step-by-step written instructions as well as photos for each step.
Can I get the Worry Worm Patterns for free?
Yes! You can get all the Worry Worm Patterns for free on my blog. They do, however, include ads so if you'd like to print out the pattern and have no interference of ads, you'll find the PDF Written Patterns for sale for a small fee in my online shop and on Ravelry.
Why should I buy the poem tags?
- You could make your own poem tags if you like, but I've simplified the process for you. The ones I've designed include several poems to choose from, 2 sizes of tags and a "Choking Hazard" warning.
- You can also edit the poem or design if you like with a Free Canva account.
- You could add the name of a FB group to which you'd like finders to post a photo (if you intend to leave your worry worms out and about for people to find).
- You save time with these ready-to-print poem tags and you get unlimited printing, forever.
- The poem tags are only available in my online shop.
What should I do if I have questions?
I'd be happy to help you with any questions you have about these patterns or poems. You can email me anytime at [email protected].
