When I made my first baby booties for my own daughter when she was born, I had quite a hard time searching the internet for the simplest booties. I was just a beginner at crocheting and couldn't get my head around the shaping of these booties.
Fast forward 10 years and I decided to make crochet baby booties accessible to beginner crocheters, even if all they know is how to single crochet and double crochet.
So if you're looking for a last-minute baby shower gift, want to make something cute for your little one, don't have much time on your hands, or you just want to try your hand at an easy crochet project, these adorable baby booties will be your new favorite go-to pattern.

Materials Needed
Worsted weight Yarn in White & Pink. I used:
- Loops & Threads Impeccable Acrylic in White (#4 Medium)
- Loops & Threads Heathered Tweed in Rose Quartz (#3 Light).
Crochet hook: 4.5 mm
A tapestry needle
A pair of scissors

Abbreviations Used in Pattern
- MC = Magic Circle
- Ch = Chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st = stitch
- sts = stitches
- fo = fasten off

Measurements/Size
These baby booties measure 9.5 cm (3.75") and are meant for babies 3-6 months old. To adjust sizing, please refer to the Crochet Baby Booties Size Chart below. You can use a smaller or larger hook size to achieve the length you want if it's a minimal increase or decrease in size. If you need more than 1/2" length, then add rows beyond R8 as needed.

Gauge
With worsted #4 yarn:15 sts and 9 rows in dc = 10 cm (4") with a 4.5 mm hook.

This simple baby booties pattern is beginner-friendly with step-by-step photo tutorial.
You can make the pattern larger or smaller by either: changing the yarn weight and/or hook size, adding or reducing the number of rows. Please refer to the Crochet Baby Booties Sizing Chart above to adjust sizing.
- Numbers at the end of each row (in brackets) indicate the number of final stitches in that row.
- Ch 2 at the beginning of a round does not count as a stitch.
- Please note that I use US crochet terms.

Quick & Easy Baby Booties Crochet Pattern Instructions
Bootie x 2
R1: Start with a Magic Circle, Ch 2, Work 8 dc into the Magic Circle. (8)
Note: If you don't know how to work a Magic Circle, then tie a slip knot on your hook, ch 2, 8 dc into the 2nd chain from your hook. (8)
Pull your magic circle closed. Sl st to the top of your first st to join.



R2: Ch 2, Inc into each st around. (16)

R3: Ch 2, [Inc, 3 dc] x 4. (20)


R4: Ch 2, dc into each st around. (20)

R5: Ch 2, 15 dc, turn (15)

R6-8: Ch 2, 15 dc, turn (15)
Measure the length of your bootie and add rows if needed. Here's a baby bootie sizing chart for you.

Leave a long tail to sew. Cut your yarn and fasten off.

Turn your bootie inside out, fold the heel end in half and with your yarn needle whip stitch along the end of your bootie to close the heel.



If you didn't start with a Magic Circle, use your beginning yarn tail to sew the toe closed tightly.
Turn your bootie right side out.
Attach the contrasting color yarn to the heel end of your bootie, ch 1. Make sure the front of the bootie is facing left.

Sc around the top of the bootie. (Try to crochet over your yarn tail so you don't have to weave it in later.)
Sl st to join.

Leave a short tail to weave in. Cut your yarn and fasten off.
Repeat instructions for second bootie.

Weave in all tails and cut off excess.

Flowers x 2
Round 1:
Option 1: Work 5 sc into a MC (5). Pull your magic circle closed and sl st to the first sc of Round 1.
5 sc into Magic Circle
Pull your magic circle closed and sl st to the first sc of Round 1.
Option 2: If you're really not keen on the Magic Circle, you can Chain 2, then work 5 single crochets into the second chain from your hook. Sl st to the first sc of Round 1.

Round 2: [3 dc, sl st all in the same stitch].

Repeat [ ] 4 more times (once into every stitch of R 1). (5 Petals)
Slip Stitch to the bottom of the first stitch to join.

Leave a 4" tail, cut your yarn and fasten off.

Now stitch the flowers in place, centered to the front of each bootie.
