**Ugly Christmas Sweater Appliqué**

I just love ugly Christmas Sweaters and I’ve seen many crochet patterns online with mini sweaters used as garlands or Christmas Tree decorations.

I wanted to create a flat version I could use on my Christmas cards this year. They could also be added to gifts as fun “ugly” Christmas tags or as an embellishment on your crocheted book sleeve to give it that Christmasy feel.

As appliqués, these Christmas sweaters are super versatile and can be used on any crochet project to add a festive accent.

**Materials Needed**
DK yarn (cotton or acrylic) in festive Christmas colors. I used Paintbox Yarns DK in red, beige and 2 shades of green.
3 mm crochet hook
Yarn needle
A pair of scissors

**Abbreviations Used in Pattern**
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
st = stitch
sts = stitches
fo = fasten off

**Skill Level**
Intermediate

**Measurements/Size**
These mini sweaters measure about 11 cm (4.3″) in width from sleeve to sleeve and 8 cm (3.2″) in height.

**Yardage**
I used about 11 m (12 yards) of yarn for this project.

**Gauge**
10 stitches and 7 rows = 5 cm x 5 cm (2.5″) in hdc

**Notes**
– Numbers at the end of each row (in brackets) indicate the number of final stitches in that row.

– Please note that I use US crochet terms.
